Friday night, Franklin used a steady ground game to pound out a 24-6 win over Swain in front of a good crowd at the Panther Pit.  Franklin got another outstanding performance from Senior RB Josh Young.  Young tallied 154-yards on 28 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Panther offensive attack.  On the season Young has amassed 858-yards on 128 carries and has scored 10 touchdowns.

The remainder of the Franklin points came from an Andrew Raby field goal.  Raby continues to shine as the Kicker and punter for the Panthers as he connected on all three PAT kicks and punted three times for a 32.0 yard average.

The Franklin ground game got a boost as Sophomore Blaine Clark made his first appearance of the season by rushing 9 times for 60-yards.  Ryan Evers had a good night from his fullback slot as he paved the way for both Young and Clark most of the night.  Evers got to carry the ball as he rushed 4 times for 19-yards

Franklin QB Christian Vose had a good night directing the Panther offense.  Vose completed 5 passes for 45 yards.  Jason Erxleben caught 4 passes for 45 yards and Ryan Evers caught 1 pass for 4-yards.

The Panthers finish out the non conference portion of their schedule next Friday night when they travel to Sylva to take on their long time rival the Smoky Mountain Mustangs.  Smoky Mountain suffered their first loss of the season to the Murphy Bulldogs by a 52-21 margin.  Murphy has handed both teams their only losses so far this season.  Expect a playoff type atmosphere as the Mustangs will be having their Fan Frenzy as well as the WLOS Julie Wunder pep rally.
