The 2007 season is going to officially start Friday night when the Franklin Panthers host the Hayesville Yellow Jackets in an Endowment game the Panther Pit.  This game is the fourth time that Franklin and Hayesville have played to open the season.  Franklin has won two times (2002@ WCU, 2006, the 2003 game was ruled no contest due to a lightening storm). Overall against the Yellow Jackets in 58 recorded games, Franklin holds a 41-14 edge.  Franklin has won the last 5 meetings between the two teams.  

     Franklin is coming off a good showing in a scrimmage against SMC 1A favorite Cherokee last Friday night in Cherokee.  Hayesville had a good showing in a series of scrimmages at WCU.  Kickoff time is at 7:30.  

     If you cannot make the game, tune into 96.7 WNCC to hear George Young and Byron McClure bring you the live play by play action.  The pre-game show will start around 6:00pm.
