The
Franklin Panthers continued their preseason workouts with a controlled
scrimmage at Cherokee on Friday, August 10th. Cherokee is expected to
be a contender for the SMC 1-A crown this season and returned the
majority of the team that took the Braves deep into the playoffs last
season. Although no official score was kept, in the game time
simulation part of the scrimmage Franklin scored two touchdowns and
Cherokee added a touchdown and a field goal. Both teams start
the season officially next week as Cherokee hosts Andrews and Franklin
will host Hayesville.
